King Caelus of Uranus
“. . .and I am counting the days until I can see you again,” the recording said, and King Caelus paused it to look at his wife. He had watched this newest report three times, just to see her face and hear her voice. He touched the screen and sighed; he knew what he was getting into when he married her, but he missed her so.
It was no easy fate, being a senshi of the outer worlds; the vast majority of their time had to be spent at their posts, supporting the magic web that protected their system from outside invaders. Twice a year they were allowed to return home for a day; just two days a year with the
King Titan of Saturn
The King of Saturn was a slender, soft-spoken man, but his eyes seemed to pierce everything around him. Few of the servants had the courage to meet his eyes, even though he never raised his voice to any of them. As he glided down the hallway with a rustle of his dark purple robes, that unnerving gaze sweeping the area in search of his quarry, the servants kept their own eyes looking at almost anything else. King Titan paid them no mind, for he was used to it, and he had more important matters to attend to at the moment.
As King Titan passed by one of the large windows, one of the curtains quivered slightly. He paus
King Zeus of Jupiter
King Zeus's birthday celebration was a grand affair. Bright, happy music filled the lavishly decorated hall as the guests danced and mingled. King Zeus walked amongst his friends and compatriots, his Queen at his side, talking merrily with everyone. His boisterous laugh could be heard throughout the hall, but even when he was silent he stood out in the crowd. King Zeus was almost a foot taller than everyone else there, broad-shouldered, with long red-brown hair tied back in a low ponytail, brown eyes, and a thick beard and mustache. He wore robes of emerald green for the occasion and his tall, golden crown. His wi
King Demetrius of Earth
The swords clanged loudly, the sound echoing over the palace grounds. King Demetrius lashed out at his twelve-year-old son, driving the boy back a few steps. The king was still head-and-shoulders taller than his son, and a few inches broader; they both had the same thick black hair, (the king was always privately grateful the boy hadn't inherited his grandmother's pink locks), but the king's eyes were earthy brown and the prince's eyes were ocean blue. Prince Endymion deflected the blows before deftly spinning out of his father's reach and taking a swing at his side, which King Demetrius easily blocked.
"Good, b
King Ares of Mars
"Is this some kind of joke?" King Ares asked his Venusian counterpart as he examined the weapons report his inspectors had brought him. They were speaking through a communicator, and King Eros looked amused. "Half your weapons are made of gold?"
"What of it?" King Eros asked.
"Who makes weapons out of gold?" King Ares said, clearly exasperated.
"You know perfectly well that properly-tempered Venusian gold is harder than Earth diamonds; why wouldn't we use it? All right, it looks a little ostentatious, but so what? It works. Anyway, we're not at war with anyone, and there's no prospect of war on the horizon. Wh
King Eros of Venus
"Honestly, I'm feeling better," King Eros said into the communicator with a weak smile. "Still not a hundred percent, of course." he added as he began to cough roughly. "I'm sorry I couldn't go with you to the Moon Council meeting," he said once he could breathe again. The fit had given his pale cheeks a temporary flush, his sky blue eyes watered, and his short, pale gold hair stuck lightly to his forehead and scalp.
"Nonsense; everyone knows you're sick, and they understand; even King Ares," the image of Queen Aphrodite on the screen waved him off. A sound behind her made her turn her head, then she looked back at
King Kalavan of the Moon
Princess Serenity held her father's hand tightly as he led her down to the Hall of Learning for her day's lessons. He seemed very tall from her perspective, as she was only five, and his shoulder-length blonde hair shined softly in the sunlight. His royal robes and cape, all silver and white, contrasted with his golden locks pleasantly. The servants they passed bowed to them politely.
A short distance from the Hall, Serenity suddenly tugged on her father's arm gently.
"Yes, sweetheart?" he asked, pausing mid-stride and looking down at her, his green eyes curious.
"Know what, Daddy?" the little girl asked.
King Hermes of Mercury
King Hermes looked at the missive he had just received and sighed heavily. His latest draft of the treaty with the world of Nix had again been sent back with requests for changes. Treaties were never a simple matter, but there seemed to be no pleasing the government of that ocean-rich world. Queen Serenity had every faith that he'd manage it eventually, as he had managed to work out the treaties for all of the other worlds the Moon Kingdom was aligned with, but this was the eighth time they had requested changes to the document.
"Is there no comprise they'll accept?" he muttered, running a hand through his black
